On behalf of the Organizing Committee it is our great pleasure to invite you to join the 17th Biennial Meeting of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS 2018) to be held from September 14-16, 2018 in the historic and beautiful city of Kyoto, Japan. IGCS 2018 is being held in collaboration with the Japanese Society of Gynecologic Oncology.
Following the tradition of previous meetings, IGCS 2018 will provide you with the opportunity to learn about the latest clinical advances as well as international developments in research, practice and treatment for the holistic care of women with gynaecological cancer.
The IGCS Biennial Meeting in collaboration with the Japanese Society of Gynecologic Oncology offers a unique program that covers the latest, cutting edge information including innovative developments in surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and pathology. Translational aspects will be updated and developments in targeted therapies highlighted. The Meeting will also discuss the psycho-social, socio-economic and sexual aspects of gynecological cancer care, as well as palliative and end of life care. Clinical trial updates and unanswered problems will be highlighted within this program. This Meeting is multi-disciplinary and draws on expertise from throughout the world.
An international faculty of world-class experts in gynecological oncology is developing a scientific program that will cover a broad range of topics. We will focus on presenting state-of-the-art lectures and the newest research on relevant topics. A special focus will be given to interactive sessions that give us the opportunity to exchange ideas, form new and maintain existing friendships. Topics related to low and middle income country problems will be addressed extensively including educational challenges and best utilization of limited resources .
Kyoto is the former capital of Japan, located in the Kansai region and has been at the center of traditional Japanese culture for over one thousand years. Harmoniously, Kyoto balances tradition with innovation as the home of cutting edge universities and research institutions. While the city is an important industrial center, Kyoto preserves its historic charm and beauty with its many temples and shrines, parks and gardens and old wooden houses. Kyoto beautifully illustrates the development of Japanese wooden architecture and the art of Japanese gardens, which has influenced landscape gardening throughout the world. This beautiful city is also home to an impressive seventeen World Cultural Heritage Sites including Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Nijo Castle.
Kyoto is also the city of “Omotenashi” (Hospitality), making it a perfect destination for IGCS attendees to gather from around the world. We very much look forward to your participation in IGCS 2018 and to welcoming you to Kyoto, “where tradition meets innovation.” We hope this will be a truly international meeting.
